Teen charged following knifepoint robbery in Lancing

A BOY has been charged after a knifepoint robbery in Lancing.

It happened at about 9.20pm on Saturday (September 22) when a 16-year-old visiting French student was robbed of his mobile phone and a small quantity of cash, in Sompting Road, Lancing.

A 15-year old Worthing boy has been charged with robbery and possession of a knife in a public place, and appeared at Worthing Youth Court earlier today (Monday, September 24).

Another 15-year-old boy, from Bognor Regis, who was arrested on suspicion of robbery, was released on police bail until October 21, while enquiries continue.

This offence is not being linked with two street robberies in Worthing in the early hours of Saturday.
