Tragic twins remembered at Worthing family wedding

A BRIDE from Durrington poignantly remembered her dead twin brothers on her wedding day.

Georgia White, 19, married fianc Darren Quick at Worthing Register Office on Saturday, February 14, and enjoyed a reception and disco afterwards at Highdown Hotel.

Missing from the assembled family and friends who celebrated the joyous day were Swaley and Sean, 21, who committed suicide within three weeks of each other in the summer of 2005.

But Georgia ensured their spirits were with her on the day by having their names inscribed on decorative rose petals on the wedding cake.

Overcome grief

"It was a little something to say we were thinking of them," said Georgia. "I think they were there with me.

"It was an amazing day and they would have thoroughly enjoyed themselves."

Georgia said HGV mechanic Darren, 21, had become her "rock" as she struggled to overcome her grief at the loss of her beloved brothers.

She said: "It was just like a dream. You think someone's going to pinch you and you're going to wake up.

"It still hasn't sunk in, really. You still think they're going to walk through the door. We still love them and miss them so much."

Family support

"I don't think I could have done it without Darren," said Georgia.

"Sometimes, I don't want to be really emotional around my family because it would set everyone off.

"He's helped me move on and try to get on with my life.

"You never get over it. You get to learn to deal with it and live every day as it comes."

Georgia also paid tribute to the "amazing" staff at Highdown Hotel, who prepared the celebration in just a week and a half after a previous booking was cancelled.
