Tudor literature at Steyning Bookshop

TWO authors are set to visit Steyning Bookshop for an evening of Tudor themed literature.

Dr Trea Martyn and Robert Hutchinson will visit the bookshop in Steyning High Street on Wednesday, June 17, to discuss their latest works.

Dr Martyn, who is a teacher at The Towers Convent School in Upper Beeding, will be talking about her book – Elizabeth in the Garden – and Arundel historian Mr Hutchinson will shed light on his biography – House of Treason.

Elizabeth in the Garden tells the tale of how two of Queen Elizabeth I's courtiers, Lord Robert Dudley and Sir William Cecil, fought a lifetime duel for her affections by creating ever more lavish gardens for their queen.

House of Treason is a riveting biography telling the story of the Dukes of Norfolk to shed light on the reigns of Henry VII, Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.

Free tickets are available in advance from The Steyning Bookshop or by calling 01903 812062.
