Upper Beeding care home joins chain gang for Children in Need

RESIDENTS at an Upper Beeding care home raised money for Children in Need by making an extra-long paper chain.

Staff and occupants of Valerie Manor care home, in Henfield Road, took part in a paper chain marathon on Friday.

"The finished chain reached almost 50 metres in length and filled the corridors at the Manor," said Zoe Bates, manager of Valerie Manor.

"The residents really enjoyed themselves; it was great, actually."

A total of 220 was raised for Children in Need.

"We really didn't expect to raise that much money," said Miss Bates.
