THREE people were treated for smoke inhalation and another woman was led to safety following a fire at a Worthing property.
Six fire appliances attended the scene at Ashdown Road at around 1am this morning (Wednesday, October 24) in which the ground floor of the terrace home was 50 percent destroyed in the incident.
Officers spent more than three and a half hours tackling the fire, with specialist support units being called in from Shoreham.
The upper floor of the property also suffered extensive smoke damage, with the cause of the incident still under investigation.
It was eventually extinguished at around 430am, but West Sussex Fire and Rescue officers remained at the scene this morning as a precautionary measure.
Freelance photographer Eddie Mitchell filmed this video at the scene.
