AN aging village hall has received a new lease of life thanks to a resident leaving a ‘colossal’ amount of money to fund improvements.
Before she died last October, Pam Ockenden left £200,000 to Findon’s Village Hall committee to invest in the hall.
So far, £50,000 has been spent to bring the toilet and kitchen facilities up to date, the latter of which were officially opened on Friday.
Judith Davies, chairman of the Findon Village Hall committee, said: “Pam would be thrilled. For an elderly lady, she had a brilliant brain and loved to see change and loved modern things.”
