Worthing backs Northbrook College plan... with strings
NORTHBROOK College's plan for a £70million new campus complex on its site in Broadwater Road got the go-ahead from Worthing planners — but only on several conditions.
The borough's development control committee wants a new look taken at the idea of projecting "super" graphic designs on an inclined wall near the Broadwater Road entrance.

Members thought it would be too distracting so close to a busy road junction.
Other conditions include confirmation of transport infrastructure contributions; provision of campus land for a Broadwater community centre; use and floodlighting of the multi-use games area, and a planting strip around the main car park.
Committee chairman John Livermore told the Herald: "The entire committee were unanimous — there was great support from all members.
"We just hope it goes ahead, and quickly.
"If we don't have a decent college, we will lose our students to Brighton and Chichester, and they won't come back."
Last week we asked readers to vote on whether they thought fingerprint and iris movement tests would be a good security idea for users of the new Northbrook College building.
The majority of people did not think it was a good idea with 68 per cent voting no and 32 per cent saying yes.
