BOOK clubs in Worthing are being urged to join together for a one-off event.
National Reading Group Day, on Saturday, aims to get people talking about literature.
Worthing Library will host an open morning from 10am to noon for clubs to meet and offer other readers a chance to join. Durrington-based group Phoenix will also be speaking about famous Parisian writers and poets.
The talk, from 10:30am, follows on from their recent visit to France to study how its authors have influenced literature during the past 100 years.
It will be followed by a discussion on a best-selling book by Sussex writer Simon Lelic from 11.20pm. The Child Who, about the brutal murder of a young boy in a quiet English town, topped The Guardian newspaper’s charts in January.
Both sessions are free. To book, call 01903 704809.
