Worthing 'stars of the future' celebrate theatre school places

TEENAGERS who trained at a Worthing theatre arts school are about to embark on glittering careers after securing places on prestigious theatre arts courses.

Penfold Road-based Glendale Theatre Arts School is celebrating the success of six outstanding pupils who have been accepted by some top establishments for either a degree course or a performing arts course.

Mandy Chapman, principal of the school, said: "They've all worked really hard and I feel justifiably proud of them.

"I know that among these latest graduates there will be stars of the future."

One of this year's talented students, 18-year-old Tamsin Bunyard, trained as an acrobat from the age of seven and started training in dance at Glendale from the age of 11.

Tamsin has been accepted at the sought-after Laban Contemporary Dance School for a three-year Dance Theatre degree.

She said: "What I'm most looking forward to is the physical and mental challenges that my course involves and growing, improving and developing as a dancer."

Rhiannon Haworth, 18, started dancing at Glendale when she was six and has now gained a place at the London Studio Centre to do a three-year BA Honors degree in Theatre Dance.

Josephine Worsop, 18, joined Glendale when she was 10. She has won a three-year scholarship to Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

Matt Pasmore, 16, has won a three-year scholarship for the diploma course at Millennium Performing Arts in Woolwich.

Victoria Greenway, 18, recently gained grades A, B and C at A level and is set to take up her place at Millennium Performing Arts in London.

Rosanna High, 18, started dancing almost as soon as she could walk. She has secured a place on a three-year BA Honours degree in Theatre Dance at the London Studio Centre.
