A Worthing woman took on a 2.5-mile swim to raise much-needed funds for charity.

Louise Jeavons, who has spina bifida, swam 100 lengths of the Aquarena in just three hours and 20 minutes. She did it last Wednesday, in aid of Worthing Foodbank, and was accompanied for part of the swim by the charity’s manager Julie Denyer.

Louise, 39, of Victoria Road, said: “It went very well. I used to swim a lot, but after my legs were in bandages for 18 months due to cellulitis, I had to stop.

“It’s in the last six months that I’ve got back into it and I really enjoy it.

“I’ve only met the people from the Foodbank once, but I was amazed at how supportive they were to me.”
