Police are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old man from Brighton was assaulted in Worthing on Saturday (December 19).

The victim was stood in Exmoor Drive at around 4pm when a car pulled up alongside him. A man got out of the passenger side and repeatedly punched him in the face, causing bruising and swelling, before being driven off.

Detective Constable Rebecca Hopkins said: “We believe two people tried to help the victim during the assault and we would like to speak with them as soon as possible.
