Man robbed and assaulted in Worthing

A MAN was robbed and assaulted as he walked to work in Worthing last week.

The 33-year-old man was walking through Teville Gate car park between 9.35pm and 10pm on Saturday (October 13) when he was assaulted by a group of males who punched and kicked him to the ground.

During the attack his wallet was stolen. It is believed there was at least four males in the group.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a cut to his head and released later that same evening.

Detective Constable Jamie Carruthers said: “This was a nasty attack on a man making his way to work. We are appealing to anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1514 of 12/10.
