THE new shop for Lancing charity Electric Storm Youth will be officially opened by East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton at 9.30 am on Tuesday April.
Mr Loughton is patron of the charity and an enthusiastic supporter of the project which is working to provide regular activity sessions for young people in the Lancing and Sompting area.
As part of its work the charity plans to build a multi-purpose youth and community centre on land near the former Freshbrook School site in Lancing.
The shop is in North Road and volunteers have been working hard to sort the stock and get the shop ready for opening.
Marion Peskett, founder and chairman, said: “We are looking forward to the opening of the shop and having a physical presence in the middle of Lancing.
“We hope to welcome lots of people to celebrate the opening with us.
“We have been very grateful for the donations of stock that we have received but more is always welcome.”
Good quality saleable items, bric-à-brac and clothes can be taken to the shop during opening hours.
More information is available by contacting Pauline Warren at email@example.com, or on 01903 750328.
No electrical items or large furniture can be received at the moment.
Anyone who would like to volunteer to help in the shop should contact Marion Peskett by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 07963 914 613.
