STAFF and students from Worthing College are relishing the new academic year which will see them move to an ‘awesome’ new site.
An open day at the new Hill Barn Lane site was held for students on Monday and Tuesday to give them a first look at where they will be studying come September.
The relocation, from the current site in Bolsover Road, Worthing, has been four years in the making and has been funded by the sale of the Bolsover Road site and three million pounds of Government funding.
Paul Riley, vice-principal at the college, said: “I think it’s awesome. It opens up huge opportunities to enrich the students’ experience. There’s big excitement from not only first-time students but also from the students coming over from Bolsover Road.”
The new college is set in 18 acres of parkland on the edge of the South Downs National Park and includes a fitness gym, two cafeterias, a performing arts centre and floodlit netball courts.
