WORTHING’S extended Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) has come into effect.
In a CPZ area, parking is controlled through the day and residents, local businesses and their visitors are given priority to park by purchasing permits or vouchers. Its purpose is to improve road safety, reduce congestion and remove indiscriminate parking.
The new Worthing CPZ affects the following streets:
Zone H: Colebrook Close, Dawes Avenue, Dawes Close.
Zone K: Centrecourt Close, Centrecourt Road, Osmonde Close.
Zone M: Ashwood Close, Brighton Road, Chesswood Close, Chesswood Road, Chester Avenue, Church Walk, Lyndhurst Road, Navarino Road, Pendine Avenue, Stuart Close, Ten Acres.
Zone N: Broadwater Road, Cecilian Avenue, Garrick Road, Ivy Arch Road, King Edward Avenue, Livesay Crescent, Marston Road, The Quashetts, Westbourne Avenue.
Zone O: Chatham Road, Church Walk, Devonport Road, Devonport Place.
Warning notices will be issued to people who break the CPZ regulations during the first two weeks, allowing people time to get used to the new arrangements. The CPZ is being monitored closely by West Sussex County Council during the first six months of operation. Any changes will be considered after this period.
