Summer has finally arrived in England it seems with temperatures recently reaching over 30 degrees.

To mark the occasion, we held our Summer Party in the St Barnabas House Day Hospice on Thursday, July 14.

The party was country and western themed with various activities taking place over the course of the day.

Blue Dawg Entertainments provided popcorn and candyfloss stations, a ‘Wanted’ themed photo booth and photography, all free of charge.

Bounce Mania provided a tin can alley shooting game while Route 66 line dancing group from Worthing performed and taught a couple of routines.

It was a delight to see those being cared for in the Day Hospice having so much fun together and a great example of how the a big part of the service we offer is about providing positivity at the end of life.

One of the key things offered by the Day Hospice at St Barnabas House is the opportunity to enhance wellbeing, and the team regularly put on special events in order to create a friendly and welcoming environment.

I would also like to send my congratulations to Lord Henry, Earl of Arundel, who married Cecilia Colacicchi at Arundel Cathedral on Saturday, July 16.

Lord Henry became the new president of St Barnabas Hospices earlier this year and we are very much looking forward to having him and his wife take part in our South Downs Trek on Saturday, October 8.
