At the start of January our chairman of trustees Guy Clinch stepped down after ten years of tireless service leading the charity.

Guy first became involved with St Barnabas House after his mother was cared for at the hospice in 1990, before joining the House Committee in 1993.

Since then, Guy has overseen some incredible changes at the charity and was instrumental in developing both St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House into the wonderful places they are today, caring for thousands of children and adults in our community.

He oversaw our move from the old St Barnabas building to our fantastic new facilities at Titnore Lane in 2011, and he also played a significant role in the conception of Chestnut Tree House, opened in 2003.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Guy for all he has done for the hospices over the last 22 years and it is great that he will still be available to help the organisations to continue to develop.

Guy formally stepped down from his role on December 31, making way for our incoming chairman Derwyn Jones, who assumed responsibility on January 1.

We would like to offer a warm welcome to Derwyn, who has been a trustee of the hospices for the past four years, in his new role.

Derwyn is an ideal person to take us forward and well-equipped to lead us in a sensitive and focused manner as we aim to provide more care services to more people in both Worthing and Sussex.
