A NEW initiative, Support a Watch, has recently been launched to promote Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch projects and help them find the resources they need.

Support a Watch enables money and in-kind support to go straight to the schemes and projects that need it.

It is an arrangement between a business or individual who wants to put something into their local community and a project that needs a boost.

Support a Watch centres around a page on the Neighbourhood Watch website where up to ten Neighbourhood or Home Watch projects at a time will be featured for periods of three months.

Each of the projects will have a page dedicated to them, together with background information, descriptions of what they do, successes, aims, aspirations, pictures and contact details.

For further information, please see the briefing and application guidelines on the Neighbourhood Watch website or contact Neighbourhood Watch by email at enquiries@ourwatch.org.uk or by calling 0116 229 3118.

Congratulations go to the West Downs Search Team on achieving finalist status in the Innovation category of the inaugural National Neighbourhood and Home Watch awards, which are to due to take place on Tuesday.

PCSO Sally Haggis (Heene) will be available to discuss issues outside Spar Stores, Heene Road between noon and 12.30pm on Monday.

And, last but by no means least, the Worthing Neighbourhood Watch Open Meeting is to take place on Tuesday, June 25, between 7-9pm at Heene Community Centre in Heene Road.

Our guests will include police and crime commissioner Katy Bourne and Adur and Worthing District Commander Jo Banks, both of whom will be addressing the meeting; so this will be a good chance to meet them at what promises to be an interesting event.

Heene Community Centre is on the junction of Heene Road and Winchester Road, and access to thecentre and the car park is off Winchester Road.
