WHEN 74-year-old Sylvia Cornford’s boyfriend passed away, she thought she had missed the chance to see herself in a wedding dress for ever.
But thanks to a Worthing dressmakers, Sylvia was finally able to fulfil her dream of going wedding-dress shopping.
Whyte Weddings in The Broadway, Worthing, offered to give Sylvia the experience she had always wished for, and treated her to a morning of trying on dresses, with flowers and bubbly.
Sylvia said: “What a fabulous day. My dreams have all come true. I felt like a princess, it was lovely.”
Sylvia had hoped that she and her boyfriend of five years, Morris, would one day get married, but he sadly passed away two years ago.
Whyte Weddings’ Tracey Basten said: “The team at Whyte Weddings had a lovely morning with Sylvia who was absolutely delightful.
“We were only too happy to be a part of making Sylvia’s dream come true.”
Senior carer Susan Welch said: “It was absolutely lovely. It’s been a hope and a dream of Sylvia’s for a long, long time.
“She always hoped she would get married and part of my job is trying to make things happen for the people I support. It was wonderful.”
