Person hit by train in East Worthing

BUSES are currently replacing trains between Worthing and Brighton after person was hit by a train at East Worthing.

The incident happened shortly after 6am today and commuters have been advised they face delays.

A statement on the National Rail website reads: “A person has been hit by a train at East Worthing. Because of this, buses are replacing trains between Brighton and Worthing, with journey times extended by up to 50 minutes. There is no current estimate for when a normal service will resume.”

Southern and First Great Western services are affected, on the Brighton, Hove, Aldrington, Fishersgate, Lancing, East Worthing, Worthing, Barnham and Chichester/Littlehampton route.
