Residents have come together to restore a flower bed on Queens Parade in North Road after it was destroyed by vandals for the ‘fourth time’.

The images were supplied to the Herald by Neil Godfrey, who said they where taken on Monday, August 1 at 7am.

He added that he believed the incident happened between midnight and 3am the same day.

Mr Godrey said: “Barry from the Sussex Drug Store who looks after the flowers there was disappointed and angry at this happening for a fourth time”.

Residents donated new flowers for the planter, and Barry thanked those that contributed in a Facebook post. It said that the flowers would be taken inside each evening.

Sussex Police had no record of the incident.
