Police force their way into Sompting flat to detain man

POLICE forced their way into a flat and detained a man in Sompting this evening (Saturday, January 31).

Specially-trained officers were called to a block of flats, in Millfield at 7.15pm.

A 39-year-old man was taken off in an ambulance after officers gained entry to the building.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called to an address in Millfield, following cause for concern for the welfare of a 39-year-old man.

“It was necessary to force entry to the premises in order to ensure the man was safe and well.

“He was detained to prevent a further breach of the peace.”
