POLICE in Worthing are trying to unravel the mystery of a man who needed hospital treatment after he received a head injury in the town over the weekend.

The 39-year-old was taken to Worthing Hospital following the unknown incident in North Street, at 1.11am on Sunday (July 5).

The male can’t recall how he sustained his injury, which isn’t being treated as serious, a police spokesman confirmed.

However, officers believe that he may have been hit by a vehicle.

They now want to speak to the driver of a white car of van that was seen close to the location of where the mystery injury was sustained.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “A white car or van, possibly a minibus, was seen at the location at the time of the incident, but did not stop. Police want to speak to the driver of the vehicle along with any other witnesses.”
