Reports of an armed siege in Worthing have been addressed by police.

The Herald was contacted today at midday with reports that armed police officers had been spotted at Brooklands Lake in Western Road.

But the mystery was soon solved, as a Sussex Police spokesman confirmed that it was just a training session that was ‘due to finish shortly’.
