A LEADING campaigner supporting adults with learning difficulties officially opened a new charity shop.

Rosa Monckton, a documentary maker and journalist, officially cut the ribbon to open the new Mencap charity shop at Buddys in South Farm Road, Worthing, when she gave a speech about caring for those that are most vulnerable in our community.

She praised the work Buddys Café, which provides work experience for adults with learning difficulties, is doing.

Jenny Stead, one of the co-ordinators at Buddys, welcomed Rosa to the café and introduced her to customers, clients and volunteers.

Rosa then had a short tour before she left.

On the day, Buddys also held a summer fair featuring a vintage craft stall, home made cakes, tombola and face painting, with all the money raised going towards supporting the work it does.
