The Globe Primary School in Irene Avenue, Lancing, was put in special measures following a failed Ofsted report in March, and head Heather Keeler announced she would quit if it was forced to become an academy.

Now she has announced she will leave in the summer, despite no decision having been made over the school’s future.

Deputy heads Claire Watts and Jan Jordan also announced they would step down after the report was published, with Mrs Jordan retiring.

They join former chairman of governors Linnette King, who announced her resignation at a meeting with governors in the aftermath of the Ofsted report.
