THREE schools were presented with cheques to celebrate both their creative talent and their healthy eating knowledge.
Springfield First School, Davison High School and Ferring Funtime Community Pre-school shared a prize of £1,250 worth of healthy eating products after they entered a poster competition organised by Waitrose Worthing.
The competition invited school pupils to each design a healthy eating poster, with each school submitting their ten best entries. The posters were then judged by mayor of Worthing Ann Barlow, Waitrose branch manager Nick Holt and Worthing town centre manager Sharon Clarke.
Nick said: “The competition was organised by Waitrose to help engage local schools and promote healthy eating.
“It is fantastic that the Mayor and Worthing Town Centre Initiative have helped raise the profile of the campaign by judging the paintings. We were very impressed with the entries and some of the children really demonstrated an understanding of healthy foods and how that helps promote well being.”
The winning entries are currently on display in the cafe at Worthing Waitrose, with the runners-up to be displayed in the coming months.
