DARTH Vader, stormtroopers, and even Doctor Who turned up at Sainsbury’s to help raise money for charity.
The Iconic Legion costumers posed for photos with parents and children at the Lyons Farm store last Saturday, with collection buckets in hand, to raise money for children’s charity Freddysmile. In total, the tombola, cake sale and bucket collections raised nearly £750.
Freddysmile provides short breaks for cancer suffers and their families, and was set up by Kelly and Warren Street, who have first-hand experience of cancer through their son, Freddy.
The family has been fund-raising to buy two caravans for the short breaks in Selsey.
The money raised from the event will help pay off the remaining £6,000 balance on the second caravan, as well as purchasing more specialist dry suits for people with Hickman lines.
Kelly Street said: “It went absolutely brilliantly. “Everyone loved seeing Iconic Legion and all the dads were racing to get to them before the children.”
