Chestnut Tree House is set to transform Littlehampton seafront for the hospice’s 13th 10k fundraising run.

A new route is being introduced to the run, which will take place on Sunday, Septermber 11, and will see participants take in the beach, boating lake and residential areas.

People of all abilities are now being encouraged to sign up. A total of 1,200 people took part in last year’s event and raised a magnificent £45,000 – a figure organisers are hoping to surpass in 2016.

Nicky Ifould, events fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House, said: “Our annual 10k race has become a popular fixture locally and further afield.

“We have introduced a new fast, flat route this year, which is predominantly on the roads or promenades of Littlehampton and Rustington, making it an ideal course for both seasoned runners and beginners.

“People are welcome to complete the course at their own pace, whether they run, jog or walk it as part of a team or as an individual.

“All we ask is that participants raise as much as they possibly can for Chestnut Tree House.

“Every penny people donate or raise for us really does count.”

Registration costs £14 and the charity can set up a Just Giving page for participants when they sign up.

As well as runners the charity is keen to hear from anyone who can volunteer on the day to help marshal the route, man water stations and hand out medals.
