Police said the 32-year-old victim was woken between 3am and 4am on Saturday, May 7, when she became aware of a man intimately touching her over her clothing in Chapel Road, Worthing. The woman then got up and pushed him away.

Detective constable Sebastian Day said: “Some members of the public spoke to the woman offering her help after the incident and we would like to speak to them as they may have important information. She was also spoken to in the doorway of Store Twenty One earlier in the night and anyone who had contact with her may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area.
