A VILLAGE hall has been presented with a plaque celebrating the 60 years of continuous service it has provided for the community.
Sompting Village Hall in West Street, Sompting, has been used by local residents since 1953 and is home to a variety of clubs, groups and societies catering for an array of different interests and activities.
Chairman of the village hall committee Richard Norton, 89, has been on the committee for 15 years and says the hall is in very full use.
He said: “I think it is a very valuable asset to the people of Sompting.”
