A SUPPORT group for people who have had a stroke celebrated its 30th birthday last week.
KESTRO, the Worthing and District Stroke Club, held a lunch and had a visit from mayor Charles James to mark the special anniversary last Friday (June 22).
Vic Joy, club secretary, said the party was an opportunity to catch up with founder members of the group, as well as thank contributors.
He added: “Our format has changed very little in 30 years.
“We thrive on friendship, laughter and cups of tea.”
The group meets every Friday, from 2-4pm, at Goring United Reform Church hall in Shaftesbury Avenue, Goring. It provides practical advice, exercises, and a place to socialise for its members.
