Strong winds cause damage in Worthing and Lancing

STRONG winds and driving rain caused damage to a number of properties in Worthing and Lancing today (Tuesday, January 3).

Firefighters were called out to a home in Orchard Avenue, Lancing, to secure roof tiles and make a home safe after its chimney pot fell into the garden.

They were then called to First Avenue, Lancing, this afternoon to help make roof tiles secure.

Just after 2pm, a fire crew was called to the BP Garage in Brighton Road, Worthing, after part of its metal sheet roof above the petrol pumps became loose.
