RECORDS tumbled for the tenth consecutive year at Durrington High as ‘stunning’ students achieved the school’s highest-ever results.
A total of 65 per cent of students received five A*-C grades, including English and Maths – up seven per cent on last year.
Headteacher Sue Marooney said: “It is a stunning set of results for a stunning year group.
“For our school to achieve year on year improvement for a decade is a reflection of our team ethos and work ethic.”
The school’s best individual was Chandler Goddard, 16, who got nine A*s and four As.
He said; “I wasn’t really nervous until I got here and saw everyone queueing up.
“It was a long wait for the results, but I am really pleased with what I got.”
Close behind was Oli Marks, 16, who put in ‘a lot of hours’ of revision to get eight A*s and four As.
He is now set to attend BHASVIC College, and already has his sights set on a career in medicine.
He said; “It feels amazing, I can’t believe it.
“I was expecting mostly A grades, and put a lot of hours of revision in, but I thought I would get a few Bs too.
“I’m very happy, it’s crazy.”
