The free event, held last Wednesday, featured activities for the children such as face painting, a bouncy castle, a tea cup ride, juggling, a water slide, an art and craft den and a foam pool.

A range of demonstrations were also held every half an hour in the entertainment centre, giving the children the opportunity to try new activities such as kung fu and gymnastics.

Event organiser Karen Winstanley, from Broadwater, said: “Every year it seems to get bigger and bigger. This year’s event was the best yet.

“It was amazing to see so many children enjoying so many activities. It was amazing as always.”

There were 55 stalls, all of which featured free gifts, raffles and activities, with Thomas Cook and Perfume Shop giving away gift bags and raffle tickets.

Bacon and Co. estate agents, the main sponsors of the event, held a ‘throw a sponge at a real estate agent’ game for the children.

The entertainment did not stop there, with chances for the children to decorate a car wreck, which had been donated by PCR in Lancing, by drawing or covering it in newspaper.

The event is held on the first Wednesday of August every year and is free for all children.
