A MUSIC festival will take place in Worthing this month to raise money for two charities.
ohn Sandbrook and his wife Shelley are organising the event, named 10:4T, to mark the 40th anniversary of St Barnabus hospice and the 10th anniversary of Chestnut Tree House Hospice.
The event, which will take place at the Assembly Hall on August 24, will mark 40 years of music history.
The line up will include acoustic duo Jax Perry and Cary Medcalf of Rip the Covers Off, Abba tribute Chiquitita, featuring Mel and Treeanna, Eighties rock revival band Iron Tyger and Madness tribute act Los Palmas 6.
Mr Sandbrook said: “I came to find out about both anniversaries and I thought that there is a lot of talent in this area and it would be good if some of the people came together for such a good cause. That is how it started.
“We had a meeting and the charities loved the idea.
Mr Sandbrook said the event would cost around £3,500 to finance, of which he has already secured about £1,100.
He said: “This is for two very worthwhile causes and I am hoping to raise about £8,000 to £10,000 in total.
“It is for that reason that I want to sort out the financing before the event so any money that we make on the night will go totally to the these two wonderful charities that support so many members of our community, Because that is what it is all about.”
Tickets cost £10 in advance and are available on 01903 206206 or at www.worthingtheatres.co.uk
