LANCING’S county councillors have launched a forum to consult with residents about local issues.
Lancing Link will provide a regular opportunity for the people of Sompting and Lancing to meet with their representatives to discuss a range of community issues.
Cllr Lionel Parsons said: “Right across the Adur area we are heading for some very challenging times and my local constituents approach me on a regular basis.
Issues range from traffic regulations to flooding – and right now about how we resist massive new housing development plans.”
Mr Parsons added: “All of the Lancing County Councillors will be present, together with key parish councillors and an elected member from Adur District Council.
“Clearly, it’s not about finding magic solutions there and then, it’s about identifying the biggest community issues, so that we can take them up on your behalf.”
The next Lancing Link meeting will be on Monday, November 4, at 7:30pm in the South Room at Lancing Parish Hall in South Street, Lancing.
Mike Glennon, county councillor for Lancing, recently spoke out against pans to build on the Adur floodplain. He said:
“This is bound to aggravate the already serious flooding problems. Better to recognise geographical reality now, not after further suffering has been inflicted on local people.”
