MORE THAN 40 children attended a holiday bible club at Storrington Chapel this summer.
The activity club, which has been running for a number of years, attracted children from age four from the Storrington and Pulborough areas.
Throughout the week they immersed themselves in a range of activities.
Coordinator Margaret White said: “It was a lovely week and the fact that the weather was wonderful really helped us, especially on the Friday when we invited parents along for the last half an hour to see what we had been up to, and then had a barbecue.
“The children do all sorts of things while they are here. They come in on the first day and are welcomed, then they start singing some of the bible songs.
“Then they watched and listened to a drama that our youth team put on which was a real treat.
“We also play games, do crafts and read bible stories.
“It is a different schedule each day, but there is lots to keep them busy and it is lovely because the children burn off all their energy and a lot of steam doing the noisy things then they sit quite happily for the quieter activities.”
Mrs White has been involved with the holiday club for 13 years.
She said: “We have a big team of helpers and everyone has their specific jobs, including which is great as it gives them responsibility.”
