Record crowds visit Steyne Gardens custom car show

A DARK horse took the limelight at the annual Worthing Lions’ custom car show in Steyne Gardens this year.

The event on Sunday, July 29, attracted bigger crowds than it has ever done before, and saw crowds of people turn up to look at the hot rods and classic cars.

The event was hosted by UK Street Machines, and the prize for best of this show went to a Vauxhall Cresta – an honour organiser Mark Ashman said usually went to a hot rod.

Mark said: “The amount of people we had there was much more than we have had before – bearing in mind it was the end of the festival we were really pleased.

“The cars were brilliant. There was a few more than last year, but a lot more people came to watch them.”

For the full story, including a picture spread from the show, read this week’s Worthing Herald, out today, Thursday, August 2.
