Stabbing victim still in critical condition

MORE than two weeks after being stabbed in Worthing, a young victim remains in a critical condition.

The incident, which happened in Pavilion Road on Saturday, August 11, resulted in the 25 year-old man undergoing emergency surgery at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton.

He had been stabbed a total of three times in the thigh and abdomen.

Patrick Brookes, 25, was charged with grievous bodily harm at a magistrates hearing in Worthing and was remanded in custody until November 2. He has denied the charge.

In a separate hearing at Chichester Magistrates’ Court, 24-year-old Jeremiah Reynolds from London and two teenage men, aged 16 and 17, have also been charged in connection with the incident.

Another 19-year-old man from London has now arrested regarding the incident and has been bailed until September.
