Worthing street robbery victim has not come forward

Police are investigating a report of a street robbery in Worthing yesterday morning (Sunday, November 11).

It is said to have happened at around 10.30am, in Victoria Road.

The victim, a woman aged around 55, has not come forward, but witnesses reported a man snatched her handbag from her.

The woman was wearing a purple coat, and was with an older man who had grey hair.

It is believed two other men intervened and the bag was retrieved and given bag to the victim.

A man has since been arrested in connection with the event.

The woman and the older man concerned are asked to contact West Sussex CID on 101, extension 81119, quoting reference number 0490 of 11/11.
