Traffic problems raised at police meeting

PARKING, speeding and mini motos were among the concerns brought up at the latest Cokeham and Peverel police panel meeting last Thursday.

Cars speeding in West Street was highlighted and PCSO Tiller said she would look into the possibility of speed checks.

Previous checks carried out in Western Road showed that 10 per cent of drivers were speeding.

Plans were discussed for an enforcement day to be held in the new year, as well as a community speed watch in the area, for which volunteers would be needed.

Richard Cave said the school safety-zone lights were not working at the correct times, and parking outside the school was mentioned as an ongoing issue which will continue to be monitored.

PCSO Tiller agreed to work with the dog warden to tackle the issue of fouling on the park, and mini motos were reported as an ongoing problem in the Halewick Lane area.
