TWO teams of trainee chefs will go head-to-head in a Masterchef style competition to see who can produce the best five-course menu.

Final year students from Northbrook College are being mentored by Russell Williams, head chef at Bailiffscourt Hotel in Climping.

On June 9, the teams will prepare their menus at a fundraising dinner in the Arundel Restaurant, West Durrington Campus, Littlehampton Road, Worthing.

Head chef Russell said: “It is important to start off at the grass roots with young chefs. By really nurturing them throughout their training, they in turn will spread this knowledge. This creates a better atmosphere, improves local kitchens and gets better chefs through the ranks”.

The event starts at 6.30pm and tickets cost £25.
