Car collides with barrier in heavy fog

A car collided with a barrier on the A27 last night during a heavy bout of fog.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 15 on the Upper Brighton Road section of the A27 in Sompting, at the junction with Manor Road in Lancing.

According to Sussex Police, officers were called to the scene at 10.40pm.

Eyewitnesses reported that a black car had collided with a metal barrier on the eastbound carriageway which had crumpled, and the vehicle was facing the wrong direction.

Sussex Police confirmed that no-one was injured in the collision. Two police cars attended the collision, with one diverting traffic on the A27. The dense fog lasted throughout the night and into last Thursday morning.
