Flowers for victims of road accident

Flowers and tributes have been laid at the scene of a road accident in Arundel that claimed two young lives.

A 21-year-old man from Storrington, who was driving the car, and his passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Billingshurst, died after the car left the road and hit a tree, police have said.

Emergency services were called to the A284 London Road in Arundel at around 8.30pm on Thursday (November 17), but both occupants were were pronounced dead at the scene, officers added.

The road was closed for four hours while police investigated the incident and the vehicle, a Honda Civic, was removed.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to email [email protected] quoting Operation Highmoor.
