MOTORISTS on the A27 have faced serious disruption after a caravan lost a wheel on the Shoreham bypass this morning (Saturday, April 20).
The incident happen at about 7.15am and left a stretch of the road closed for several hours.
Sussex Police reported other vehicles were involved in the collision and it is believed up to five cars might have been caught up in the drama.
The A27 had to be closed eastbound before one lane was opened.
Crews are still working on removing the caravan, which is taking longer than usual due to the missing wheel, police said.
However, it is hoped the road will be fully open shortly.
