TRIBUTES have been paid to a “fine and outstanding” councillor who died suddenly.

Reg Green, who died on Friday (January 27), had been a Worthing borough Conservative councillor since 1996, representing Offington ward.

Paul Yallop, leader of Worthing Council, said: “The news of Reg’s sudden illness came as a great shock – he was a good friend to me.

“Reg always spoke his mind and had a great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by all of his Conservative colleagues. Our thoughts are with his wife, Doreen, and the rest of his family. “
