UPDATE: Boy '˜suffered head injury' in car collision

A spokesperson for the air ambulance has provided more details about last night's collision between a car and a 16-year-old boy.

As previously reported, emergency services were contacted at just after 8.30pm last night about the collision, which occured at the Halewick Lane junction of the A27 in Sompting. Read the full story here.

A spokesperson for Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance said they were called to the road traffic collision at 9pm and sent a helicopter to the scene.

They said: “The patient was a 16-year-old male pedestrian who suffered a head injury and was given emergency treatment by the helicopter’s doctor and paramedic before being flown to the specialist neurological unit at Southampton General Hospital.”
