A PEDESTRIAN who suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision in Broadwater on Saturday evening remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The 36-year-old man suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a car in Broadwater Road at 8.25pm.
He was crossing the dual carriageway on foot, 70 metres south of the Cecilian Avenue junction, when a silver Citroen C3 collided with him.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton, before being transferred to Southampton General Hospital for specialist treatment.
He is in a critical condition. The driver, a 31-year-old woman from Lancing, was unhurt.
The road was closed southbound until 11pm, while police carried out their investigations.
