A man who was rushed to hospital in an ‘extremely serious’ condition after a medical incident at WILD LIFE Festival in Shoreham is to be discharged from hospital this afternoon, police have said.
The man, in his 20s, was taken ill near one of the gates at the festival at around 7pm last night (Saturday June 11), police said.
He suffered a cardiac arrest and was treated at the scene by the on site medical team.
South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said a critical care paramedic was also sent to help treat the man.
“The patient was taken to the Royal Sussex County hospital in Brighton in an extremely serious condition,” a SECAmb spokesman said.
Sussex Police also attended the incident.
Police said he was responding to treatment last night and that he was expected to be discharged from hospital later this afternoon.
Rob Ballantine, director of SJM which is organising the festival, said: “We are very pleased with the response of the medical team - we wish them a very speedy recovery”
